London Revisited

Today is Monday

We jumped onto a bus and went back to the airport to catch the tube. We had decided to visit the Museum and then catch a show.

Steven Googled the location of the museum and worked out our travel plan with tube changes, we arrived at the London Museum an hour later, Tammy said 'is this the British museum?'
Steven replied, 'are there two?'

Back down the tube and on to the British museum. We knew we didn't have too much time in the museum because it is vast, so Tammy chose the Egyptian exhibit to concentrate on and Steven chose the Prehistory section (Standing stone type stuff). We then had a quick look around the rest and left 5 hours later.

The Egyptian section was great lots of dead people. We saw the Rosetta Stone which dates from 196 BC on which a decree by Ptolemy V is written in three different scripts including Egyptian Hieroglyphs and was the key to understanding the written language, it was discovered in 1799.

The Lewis chessmen from the 12th century found on the Island of Lewis in Scotland.

Meanwhile in the Prehistory and European section we found Tammy's sanctuary door knocker from the 1200's

After the museum we wandered the streets of London, admiring the tax deductible architecture.

We love London!

Looking for a pub, there's one.

 Pub 1

Pub 2

                                                                                                                 Pub 3

Pub 4,
Later discovered to be a gay bar, we realised when we started to read the magazines left laying around inside, it was also strategically placed between some adult shops, oh well the beer was good.
Won't mention the name in case a Devonport pub gets offended.

After the pubs Steven thought it would be a good idea to take a picture of the map so that we wouldn't get lost.... The 'you are here' note kept confusing him so it didn't work.

We went to China town for a meal, an all you can eat sounded good, it wasn't. Even the beer was bad. We headed for the show, via a pub to get rid of the bad taste.

Pub 5
With over 30 craft beers on tap

We went to see Memphis. It was brilliant.
Steven didn't fall asleep. We had the best seats.
The show was a musical about Memphis Blues music and rock and roll from the 1950's.

Pub 6

After the show and a visit to pub 6 we had an empty tube ride home.

 We love London!!!!
