Shopping day 2

Today is Monday

We woke up to a beautiful still warm day with clear blue skies, the Baltic Sea was incredibly calm. We headed off to the mainland in our boat with a borrowed fuel tank.

Anna-Maija borrowed the tank from one of her naked neighbours. They enjoy their freedom here.
On the way out we passed a small island with one house on it. Steven wants one.

We weave our way through the islands.

Heta likes to sit at the bow of the boat and let her ears get a good airing.

We drove into Kotka to look for a new fuel can for the boat and went to the boat and bike shop.
At first it looked like any other bike shop we would see at home, except, the bikes were lacking in wheels.

Antti tries out a Snow Cat for size, skis on the front and tracks on the back, perfect for getting to the Summer House in the winter.

This bad boy is for clearing the snow off of your driveway, serious 4 wheeler, or 4 tracker.

Here is the sports model, fast and compact.
There's also a snow mobile, but it won't mow the lawns.

Not forgetting the smaller children, there's and Arctic Cat for them too.
Steven is loving this, the shop owners are wondering what the odd people taking pictures are up to.

We bought a fuel can.

Then it was off to look at some more architecture, this is four houses, there are two each side, front and back. The sun does such strange things here that orientation is not so important.

Speed limit signs are changed according to road conditions, a great idea. The signs go up to 120 klm per hour on the motorways. But in bad weather they are adjusted down.

These temperature signs are spaced all along the highways, they give the air temperature and the road temperature in both Finnish and Sweedish.
This is mainly for the winter when it is good to know if the road is frozen.

Down to the lake for a sauna and a swim at 10.00pm.
Great way to finish the day.
